Island of ko linden in thailand on the map. Koh Lipe - the perfect island for a beach holiday in Thailand

Koh Lipe is the most south island Thailand, a resort that is little known among our tourists. Nevertheless, on the first day on Ko Lipe, we met a lot of Russian speakers. However, the very next day and until the end of our "vacation" we no longer heard our native language. What is so interesting about this island, how does it differ from other islands in Thailand?

Koh Lipe, Thailand

Sea and beaches

The most important thing that now distinguishes Koh Lipe from other destinations is that the island has stunning beaches, one might even say one of the best in Thailand. Better only on. It is for the sake of paradise beaches and the sea that tourists from all over the world come here. Even some 20 years ago, the beaches were deserted and semi-wild, but now civilization has reached here. But despite the abundance of tourists and hotels, the beaches of Lipe are still beautiful. Thanks to the beaches, you can turn a blind eye to the other disadvantages of the island. We have compiled our rating best beaches Ko Lipe, gave the first place to a completely different beach, which is recommended by the guidebooks.

That feeling when swimming in the sea is perfect

If someone else hasn't seen in the last article, watch our video review of the best beaches on the island.

Nature

Not to say that there is some particularly outstanding nature on Ko Lipe, but the views of the eyes are pleasing in some parts of the island. For example, when you cross the bridge from Pattaya Beach to secret beach... Large stones, greenery, transparent turquoise water ...

My favorite place on Lipe

Sand Spit on Karma Beach

An atmosphere of relaxation and carefree

The third thing we noticed is the atmosphere that is atypical for Thailand. With the onset of darkness on the beach, everything changes, music is heard from dozens of cozy cafes, fire shows are held, kind half-drunk people of all nationalities walk along the shore, intoxicated tropical nature and the sea breeze, there are bright stars in the sky, and glowing plankton can be seen underfoot in the waves.

We came to the beach every night and enjoyed the moment. Very reminiscent of the evening Goa beaches... So if you find yourself on Ko Lipe, be sure to go to Pattaya Beach after 8pm. Immerse yourself in the knowledge that you are at the end of the world, on a tiny tropical island in the open sea, enjoy the warm breeze and bright stars without thinking about anything else.

Here and now

Such an atmosphere is very well transmitted, you instantly become infected with it and you yourself are already wandering along the beach with a slight smile, as if you are high. You smile at the oncoming tourists, just like you. I don’t want to think about anything bad, I don’t want to do anything. For all the time on Ko-Lipe, we did not do any work or blog, but simply relaxed, we did not have enough strength for anything else.

Walking street

The first place that everyone who is in Ko Lipe finds themselves is Walking Street. The street stretches across the island from Pattaya Beach and almost to the opposite Sunrise Beach. On the first day, you might get the wrong impression that the whole island looks like a street - cafes, massage parlors and shops. But this is not the case.

Walking Street is the liveliest and funniest street in Ko Lipe, I don't even know what we would do if it were not for this street. All shops and inexpensive cafes are concentrated here. The rest of the restaurants and bars are located on the beach, and we have not seen shops in other parts of the island at all. Here you can buy souvenirs and get some fun, book transfers to other regions of Thailand and Malaysia, and find inexpensive accommodation.

Where can I book a transfer from the airport?

We use the service - KiwiTaxi
We ordered a taxi online, paid with a card. At the airport we were greeted with a sign with our name. Drove to the hotel in a comfortable car. We have already talked about their experience in this article.

What distinguishes Walking Street on Ko Lipe from its counterpart in Pattaya is that there are no prostitutes, lady fights, go-go bars and other debauchery here. I am sure that you can find entertainment here if you look carefully or ask someone from the local, but there is nothing like that in the open.

A large number of boats on all beaches

The island cannot be called heavenly. There are no bounty beaches on Ko Lipe. The beaches are good, of course, but not heavenly. There are many boats on all beaches. They create inconvenience with their noise, pollute the water, and are also dangerous if swimming outside fenced areas.

Ebb

At lunchtime, low tide begins on all beaches. During low tide, it becomes very shallow, stones appear at the bottom that used to be at a depth. On our first day we went swimming and were very disappointed. But when they came 2 days later in the morning, they could not believe their eyes, how everything looks different here in the morning. The main thing is to go to the sea in the morning. The tide starts in the afternoon and swimming at this time will not be so pleasant.

High housing prices

Housing prices are overestimated by about 2 times. The cheapest options are camping tents at 500 baht per night. Medium rooms in guest houses with a fan - 1000 baht, mid-range hotels offering rooms with air conditioning and hot water - from 1500 baht. These are the prices for accommodation here during the season from November to March. In the low season, the price tag is lower, but who needs to go to Koh Lipe during the rainy season, when the waves and cloudy skies intensify at sea.

Most of the hotels in Koh Lipe are built in the form of bungalows. There are so many options right on the beach. But if you booked a hotel not on the beach, do not worry, you can walk to the sea from the center of the island in 5-10 minutes.

Overpriced food

Well, how would we understand that this is an island, everything is imported here, but for some reason on other islands of Thailand, such as Ko Lanta, Ko Chang and even Ko Lan prices are not overpriced. And here most of the products are exactly 2 times more expensive than on the mainland. Especially at 7-Eleven. But on the other hand, prices in cafes do not differ from ordinary tourist restaurants in other Thai resorts.

7-eleven on Walking street Koh Lipe

Motorbikes and tuk-tuks

Their presence and movement along all pedestrian streets is very infuriating. Wherever you go, every minute someone will drive from behind or in front, and you need to move away, dodge, and then breathe dust and exhaust gases. It is impossible to walk along Walking Street normally during the day, mopeds are constantly going back and forth. It is especially annoying when a tuk-tuker rides a motorcycle with a sidecar along a narrow street, as it takes up the entire width of the street. Well, at least from 6 pm they are forbidden to ride the Volkinge and they do not go to the beach.

I remember that motorcyclists on the next “paradise” beach in Sri Lanka have already caused such irritation in our country.

Rubbish and ubiquitous contamination

This circumstance surprised me most of all on the first day. Ko Lipe is included in national park Tarutao, everyone pays 200 baht to enter the island. But then why did the locals so dirty their island? This is a national park, is there really no control at all? The fact that tourists litter, throw a bull somewhere or leave a bottle - these are all trifles. It is the locals who do the greatest harm to the island, that is, the Thais and Burmese themselves who live here..

Ko Lipe is not the same (s)

Such landscapes are everywhere, one has only to move 20 meters from Walking Street. You don't have to go far to see all this rubbish, devastation, abandoned building materials. So the island is littered, as you know, not by tourists, but by the Thais themselves. Or Burmese, for whom this is the norm, but then why are the Thais not doing anything?

I'm bastard with your NATIONAL PARK

The motto of the inhabitants of Ko-Lipe: where I live, there is crap!

Trash and general shit is the biggest disappointment and culture shock in Koh Lipe. Okay, still the filthy island of Ko Lan near Pattaya, where the situation is exactly the same, but at least there is not a national park. I do not know if any of the tourists paid attention to this, but I have never seen such " national parks". In the park, after all, the pristine nature should be maintained and preserved as much as possible. I really hope that there will never be such horror in the Similan Islands National Park, although the prerequisites already exist.

Garbage barge on Ko Lipe

And this is how they take out the garbage from the island. Well done, of course, that they take out, although not all, but why is the garbage barge placed in the very center of one of the best beaches? And it does not stand here for 5 minutes, but for several days until it is full. Moored exactly 50 meters from the bungalow of the Lipe Power Beach Resort. How wonderful it is for the guests of this hotel to go out on the porch early in the morning, admiring the sea, breathe in the fresh garbage smell ...

The Adang archipelago on the border of Thailand and Malaysia is often called the "Thai Maldives" for its white sand. Lipe is the only inhabited island in this archipelago. Lovers of serene bliss come here, as well as divers, since in the coastal waters of Ko Lipe there are representatives of almost a quarter of the species of marine life that exist in nature.

There is no private pier on the island, boats arriving to Ko Lipe dock to a special floating platform, on which tourists change to small boats local residents, which in turn deliver them to the shore. This pleasure costs only 50 THB per person. The return trip from the island to the platform with boats will also cost THB 50.

The highlight of this archipelago is the Tarutau National Park, a must-see. Prices on the page are for September 2018.

How to get to the island of Lipa

Getting to the island is easier in high season: ferry crossing organized from many popular resorts in the Andaman Sea: from Lanta, Phuket, Ph-Phi, etc. In the low season boats run only from Pak Bara pier, which is most conveniently reached from the town of Hat Yai.

From Bangkok

  1. The fastest way is by air. Flights to Hat Yai depart from Don Muang Airport, which is a 40-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi, where planes arrive from Russia. Then you can take a taxi to the pier in Pakbara (about 1000 THB) or buy a complex ticket to Ko Lipe at the airport for the same money. Or get to the bus terminal in Hat Yai (150 THB by tuk-tuk or 400 THB by taxi), where take the bus to the pier. From Hat Yai to Pakbar, about 2 hours of travel.
  2. In addition, at the capital's Don Muang Airport, you can immediately take a comprehensive ticket to Ko Lipe, which includes a flight, transfer to the pier and a ferry ticket. In terms of cost, such a route is comparable to an independent one, while there are no worries with changing transport: they will meet and see you everywhere.
  3. You can also get to Hat Yai from Bangkok by train. An evening train departs from Hua Lampong Station and arrives at Hat Yai early in the morning.
  4. Another budget option is a bus. They leave for Hat Yai from the southern terminal of the capital and go all night (10-12 hours). The cost of a bus trip is comparable to a train ticket, while the bus travels a little faster than the train, and besides, it arrives immediately at the bus station.

From the pier in Pakbara, you can sail to the island either by speedboat or by the so-called ferry. They run an hour longer (2.5 hours), but they are much more comfortable to sail than on a speedboat, which shakes from impacts against the waves (and the seats are hard and uncomfortable), and besides, the spray often falls on passengers. The cost of the speedboat and ferry tickets does not differ.

In addition, it is worth considering that boats run between the mainland and the island only during the day, so it is better to arrive in Pakbara as early as possible.

Search for flights to Phuket (nearest airport to Ko Lipe)

From the southern resorts of Thailand

In the case of Lipa, islands such as Phuket and Lanta can be called "southern" only conditionally, as they are located north of the southernmost archipelago of the country. In high season, most of these southern resorts boats run to Ko Lipe. A ticket costs about 1000-1200 THB, much cheaper (but longer) will take a bus to the pier in Pakbara and from there sail to the island.

From Malaysia

Since the island is located on the border with Malaysia, you can also get from this country to Ko Lipe. The closest to it - only 30 km - is the Malaysian island of Langkawi, from where boats start in the direction of Thai Lipa. Guests from Malaysia pass border control upon arrival on the island, but the point on Ko Lipe works only in the high season, in the low season you will have to cross the border on the mainland, in the Thai city of Satun, from there get to Pakbar and ferry to Lipa.

In the vicinity of the Adang archipelago is the Tarutao Island Reserve. It's pretty large island, most of which is occupied by the tropical jungle. There is no tourist infrastructure and full-fledged hotels - only small guesthouses and private bungalows that are rented to tourists.

You can get to Tarutao in the same way as to Lipa, since boats going to it from Pakbara pier stop off the coast of Tarutao. The cost of a ticket to it is about a hundred baht cheaper than to Ko Lipe.

Ko Lipe in Thailand is a small island located in the south of the Kingdom of Thailand, not far from neighboring Malaysia. It is part of one of Thailand's national parks - Tarutao.

Tourists have discovered the island of Lipa relatively recently. Back in the middle of the last century, sea gypsies from Malaysia lived on it, and the first Europeans appeared here in the 90s of the XX century.

Description of the island of Lipa

This tiny piece of land ten years ago was a paradise almost untouched by man. Then people came to the island and built several bungalows and a shop. There was almost no one on the beaches, and the Internet was available in one bar.

It was Pooh Bar, where tourists from Europe and America gathered on the island every day to get in touch with civilization, to have dinner and drink some beer. There were no roads and no cars, people walked without shoes.

A couple of years later, the tourist business noticed Ko Lipe, and then massive construction began. This is how the first guesthouses, hostels and hotels appeared, incl. with five stars and modern pools inside. Civilization came to the island of Lipa.

The central street was immediately concreted, its own Wolking street appeared with shops, cafes and restaurants, but not as loose as in Pattaya. On the local Walking Street, tourists make a promenade in the evenings.

A sea connection was organized between the Malaysian island of Langkawi and the Thai island of Lipa, so the local Pattaya beach soon there was a migration office to implement passport control and tourist passes.

Tourists on Koh Lipe

As soon as the modern tourist infrastructure appeared, crowds of tourists immediately went to the island. The Chinese liked Ko Lipe, they like to celebrate Chinese here New Year... In 2019, it will start on February 5 and last for the lunar month.

There are many vacationers here from South-East Asia Thais and Malaysians come in droves on weekends and holidays.

And here Russian tourists I didn't really like it on the island. They consider it too provincial village.

Seasons and weather in Koh Lipe

There are two main seasons here: dry and rainy. The high season runs from November to April. At this time, it is dry, warm and sunny here, an ideal time for beach holiday.

Low season, i.e. the time from May to October is characterized by constant rains, in our calendar summer they turn into showers and pour like a bucket. Due to heavy rains, sea traffic with Malaysia is cut off, and the flow of tourists is decreasing.

But with mainland Thailand, sea traffic continues, only the number of boat trips is decreasing. The hotels do not stop working. On the island of Lipa, lovers of rain also rest at this time.

On a tiny island, due to global climate change in the world, today you can get caught in the rain in winter, and in summer you can face beautiful, sunny weather with low prices and a small number of tourists.

When is the best time to go to Lipa Island?

It depends on what you want to get on vacation. Lover of the sun, dry heat, high prices, noisy crowds and general excitement, it is best to go to Koh Lipe for the European or Chinese New Year.

If you want to save money, but prefer a beach holiday, go to the island in the off-season, i.e. in May or October, when the weather is already settling or is still standing, and there are relatively few tourists.

If you like to relax in the rain, it calms and relaxes you, then on the island of Lipa all summer is yours. You will not be annoyed by noisy tourists, and prices for hotel, food and souvenirs at this time tend to a minimum.

How to get to Koh Lipe?

The island of Lipa is too small to build on international Airport... The nearest airports are in Thailand (Hat Yai and Trang) and Malaysia (Langkawi). From there, tourists go to the piers, and then get to the island on boats or boats.

How to get from Pakbara pier in Thailand to Lipa Island?

Thailand has two piers: Pakbara and Yao Pier, from where boats and boats go to the island. Fast boats run from Pakbar all year round, and there is a constant connection to the island. The ticket costs 650 baht or $ 20.38. In High Season up to 10 flights per day.

Koh Lipe Island in Satun province, Thailand is perhaps the most pleasant place for connoisseurs of a leisurely and calm beach holiday. Excellent and clean beaches, excellent diving and snorkeling, and at the same time sufficient distance from the main package tourist flows - these are the main features of the island of Ko Lipe.

A good idea to get stuck in Lipa is to combine business with pleasure - a trip, and then arrange yourself a long beach relaxation.

When is the best time to go to Koh Lipe

The most best weather on Lipa from December to March. Nevertheless, you can come here from October 20. The season from October 20 to November 16 and from April 1 to May 16 is considered low. At this time the most low prices, but it may rain, and the sea is rough.
It should be borne in mind that the island is small and there is little housing, so hotels for December, January must be booked in advance (6 or more months in advance).

How to get to Ko Lipe on your own

You can get to Lipa Island from Phuket, the islands of Phi Phi, Lanta, Langkawi, etc. - depending on where you are coming from. From Bangkok, you first need to get to the nearest pier, and then sail by sea to Lipa.

There are no airports on Lipa, you can only get there by sea, moreover, not every month. Navigation in this area starts from October 19 and ends on May 16.

Photo: ferry to Ko Lipe at Hat Yao pier

If you are flying from Europe, the route will be something like this: flight to Bangkok - flight to Hat Yai - bus to the pier - ferry or boat on Lipa. In fact, everything is much simpler than it seems.

The easiest option is to buy a single ticket on the website from Bangkok immediately with a transfer to Ko Lipe. Then you just get on a plane in Bangkok, and then you will be accompanied everywhere, all the way to the island.

Important! Please note that in Bangkok, AirAsia planes fly from Don Muang Airport (this is NOT the airport you will fly to from Russia, Ukraine or Europe). We still need to get to this airport. Therefore, it will be too tiring to get from Europe to Ko Lipe in 1 day. Better to at least spend the night in Bangkok.

It looks like buying a ticket to Ko Lipe like this: in the “where” field, look for “Thailand (Island Transfer)” and select “Lipe”.

You will first fly to Hat Yai, then you will be taken to the port and put on a ferry to Koh Lipe. The whole journey will take 6 to 9 hours. On the way, you will be accompanied by company employees. Everything is simple, clear and understandable.

How to get to Lipa on your own, without a transfer

Most tourists travel to Ko Lipe either by ferry from the Malay island of Langkawi, or from Thailand, using complex bus and ferry tickets, which are sold at any travel agency throughout Thailand. To determine from which places it is better to get to Ko Lipe, see the map:

I'll tell you more:

How to get from Penang (Malaysia) to Koh Lipe
1. First by ferry to Langkawi, price 70RM, ride 3 hours.
2. Then change from Langkawi to the ferry to Koh Lipe, price 118RM, ride 1.5 hours. In Langkawi, it is better to leave the Telaga pier.
A single ticket can be bought at the box office in Penang.

How to get from Bangkok to Koh Lipe island
1. Fly to one of the nearest airports - Krabi or Hat Yai.
2. Then take buses or minivans to the piers of Pak Bara or Hat Yao.
3. Then another ferry or boat transfer.

Prices depend on the route and the chosen transport, for example, the approximate price of Krabi Airport - Koh Lipe (ferry + minivan) 1400 baht / person. Speedboats are more expensive.

How to get from Phuket to Ko Lipe
Many tourists travel to Lipa Island directly by water, speed boats or ferries. However, this option is only for those who tolerate rolling well. Long and dreary.
A direct ticket can be bought in Phuket at any travel agency right on the street.

In the photo: tourists disembarking from a boat. Lipa Island

By the way, there is no berth on Lipa, so at the very last stage you have to transfer from the ferry to small boats - longtails, followed by disembarkation. So cook 50 baht each and take good care of your good shoes and cameras :)

The quietest months on the island of Lipa are October and April. During the rest of the months there are many tourists.

Koh Lipe beaches

As elsewhere in Tae, Koh Lipe does not have a single ring beach along which it would be possible to bypass the entire island. There are only three major beaches on Lipa - Sunrise, Sunset and Pattaya. And a few small ones, which can only be reached by boat. The beaches are somewhat similar - the sand is clean and white everywhere, the entrance to the water is shallow. However, there are differences, which are what experienced tourists use. So, we look at the map of Ko Lipe.

On the map, Lipa looks like a horseshoe

Pattaya Beach is primarily a transshipment base. Brigades of tourists come here and leave from here, there is also a Thai immigration office and several large hotels. The beach is long and clean and quite suitable for swimming, however this is not a Bounty, if you know what I mean :)

In the photo: the most crowded beach of Lipe Island - Pattaya Beach

Sunset is the most picturesque and “wild” beach in Ko Lipe. There are steep slopes along the coast more stones and correspondingly fewer boats.

In the photo: the end Sunset Beach on Koh Lipe

Sunrise Beach is perhaps the most balanced. There is enough space for everyone - both beach goers and boats.

Diving and snorkeling in Lipa

Photo: beginners on Lipa quickly master diving

Lipa Island is located on the territory national park Ko Tarutao, so the surrounding water area is just perfect for good diving. The nearby coral reefs are teeming with many species of tropical fish, turtles, barracudas and dolphins can also be admired. Beginner divers should take educational tours on neighboring islands Sawang and Chabang. The most advanced diving companies are Adang Sea Divers and Ko Lipe Castaway Divers.

If you are looking for budget housing most likely you will be staying in the center of the island, in one of the guesthouses around the local Walking Street. Noisy, but close to the entire tourist get-together: cafes, bars, shopping. One of the freshest and most inexpensive hotels is “A Plus Deluxe Hotel”. You can view prices and book

Hotels on west bank The islands of Lipa (especially on the hills) are quieter and with gorgeous views from the rooms, but they have their own problem - every night transport - either constantly call the local "taxi" or walk, which is inconvenient in the dark.

In the photo: a view from the window at the "Mountain Resort" hotel on the island of Lipa

If the main purpose of your holiday is diving, it is best to settle in one of the authentic resorts of Sunrise Beach, like "Adang Sea Divers & Eco Lodge"- simple, but very cheap. Here you can spend more time among fellow submariners, practice with equipment, and loading onto boats will be more optimal for you.

Comfortable hotels in Ko Lipe

The most luxurious hotels on the island are definitely Serendipity Resort, Mali Resort and the modern Idyllic Concept Resort. If your budget allows, be sure to live in one of them!

This is small island from the Adang-Ravi archipelago of Satun province in the south of Thailand, located just 60 km from the mainland. To get to this wonderful place there are several options, they depend on where you are and what time of the year the trip is planned.

Conventionally, the calendar year on the island of Ko Lipe is divided into three parts: peak (from early December to late February), high (from early November to mid-May) and low season (from mid-May to early November). During peak and high season, Koh Lipe can be reached from different resorts Thailand, located in the Andaman Sea: Phuket, Phi Phi, Lanta and other small islands nearby. In low season, there is only one option - through Pakbara pier.

In addition, you can get to Ko Lipe from the Malaysian island of Langkawi, located at a distance of 30 km. In the low season, the border point on Ko Lipe is closed and therefore you need to get through the administrative center - the city of Satun to pass customs control, then go to Pakbara pier.

The easiest way to get to Koh Lipe

The island of Ko Lipe has become so popular that it can now be reached very in a simple way- it is enough to buy a combined ticket: flight + minibus + speedboat. Nok Air has had such a service for a relatively long time, recently it has appeared with Air Asia. As a destination, you need to choose the island of Ko Lipe and then you can relax - you will be met everywhere and put in the desired transport.

The cost of a complex ticket plus or minus is the same as if you buy everything separately. You just need to remember the following, the earlier you buy such tickets, the cheaper they will be. Cheap air fares of these companies are sold out very quickly.

If we talk about numbers, then a complex ticket from Bangkok to Koh Lipe plane + minivan + speedboat will cost from 2000 baht.

How to get to Pakbara

To get to Pakbara by land transport, you will need an approximate amount of time from: Hat Yai - 2 hours, Trang - 2 hours, Satun - 1 hour, Krabi - 4 hours. If you are arriving at airports (, Trang, Krabi), then you should add extra travel time. In addition, take into account the slowness and lack of punctuality of Thais, transport delays in Thailand are very common.

If you are getting from Pakbara pier you have the following options:

1) Taxi from Hat Yai airport directly to Pakbara (1500-2000 baht).

2) Tuk-tuk (within 100 baht) or taxi to the Hat Yai bus station (around 300 baht), from where minivans go to Pakbaru (within 200 baht). The tuk-tuk parking lot is located near the exit from the airport, it is best to ask on the spot to show you where to go. Do not forget to say / ask the driver "bass station tu Pakbara" what does it mean bus station to Pakbar. It can wait until it is filled with people, so you will have to sort it out on the spot.

3) Buy a minibus + speed boat transfer to Koh Lipe at Hat Yai airport (1000 baht).

How to get to Koh Lipe from Pakbara

If you got to Pakbara in one of the ways, but did not buy tickets for the ferry or speedboat to Koh Lipe, then you need to buy a ticket at one of the many agencies. Prices for transport are approximately equal for everyone and are 600-650 baht, but it's worth a walk - there are special offers.

It makes no sense to buy a Ferry ticket (relatively slow transport and travel time 2:30 instead of 1:30 from speedboats), since the cost is equal to speedboats. If you are not limited in travel time or the trip has flexible terms, then it is not necessary to take return tickets, prices in numerous agencies on Ko Lipe are the same, and during our vacation even special offers of 400 baht were noticed.

Should be considered, all of the above applies to the high and peak seasons in Koh Lipe.

During the low season, you will most likely need to take a taxi to Pakbara and use the speedboat flight from 11-11: 30. If you are late, you will have to spend the night in one of the local hotels.

Additional "levies" on the road to Ko Lipe

1) Entrance to the pier Pakbari costs 20 baht. For what the collection is not clear, it seems, some kind of environmental fee.

2) There is no pier on Koh Lipe, so ferries and speedboats moor to the floating platform, from where “kind” longboat drivers will take you to the beach for 50 baht. In theory, to the beach that you say, but most likely they will be taken to the nearest one - Pattaya Beach, from where you will have to get there on your own. Some hotels are greeted with signs. Likewise, you will be charged 50 baht when you leave the island.

I must admit, everything is well organized, everyone is trying to help, do not hesitate to ask. Ko Lipe seemed like an extremely friendly place.

Things to Consider to Successfully Get to Ko Lipe

1) The schedule is subject to seasonality, many of the flights from mid-May to late October (low season) are unavailable.

2) The schedule may change, it is necessary to clarify it either on the spot or through the contacts indicated on the carriers' websites.

3) Transport may delay / break down, last flights can be canceled, so for complete confidence it is better to focus on the first boats of the companies.

4) The rapid development of tourism on the island - a lot of new things for last years... And most likely it will be easier and cheaper to get to Koh Lipe.
