Azov coast, map for tourists

What is the best way to relax on the coast of the Azov Sea map for recreation to help tourists

A vacation at sea always seems like a fairy tale, but it can bring a lot of headaches when it comes to questions like "where", "how long" and "how expensive." In order not to think about such problems, you need to have information about the region where you want to soak up the sun.

The Azov region from the side of Taganrog and Kuban stretches for 250 km, another 200 km belong to the Crimea. This huge area is simply "crammed" with a large number of resort towns and places for recreation and there are several reasons for this: the shallow depth of the reservoir allows the sun to warm the water well, hot steppe air reigns around, and the swimming season is long.

In order for the rest to work out, you must clearly set yourself the purpose of the trip before leaving. If you are traveling with children, then you should choose a settlement with amusement parks and a developed medical infrastructure. If you want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, then a small village with private houses is an option for you.

Many people go to the sea to treat some health problems. The air here is saturated with salts and some other elements, which helps fight allergies, coastal mud is great for problem skin, and iodine-rich water and soil are indicated for people with a diseased thyroid gland.

As you can see, there are many opportunities forthe coast of the Azov Sea and without a card for recreation really indispensable. Let's go through the most popular options.

You can also ask a question by filling out the details of this form:

Rest on the Sea of Azov in the private sector

Holidays on the Sea of Azov in 2019 the private sector: all the nuances

If you are one of those people who want to forget about the urban noise and the flow of people for at least a minute, thenrest on the Azov sea in 2019 the private sector - that's what you need. But what aspects do you need to pay attention to to make it perfect?

Remember that this kind of recreation has both its pluses and minuses. The first include:

  1. lower cost, you do not overpay for the "name" of the hotel and the number of stars;
  2. you can choose an absolutely personal option in the most comfortable and quiet place;
  3. the rest mode is determined only by you;
  4. you can find a private house in a beautiful "non-publicity" place, where crowds of tourists do not scurry.

There are also a number of negative aspects of this approach:

  1. you will have to be responsible for your life the most, that is, cook, clean, shop;
  2. comparing with the same hotels, there are no standards for this type of property, so there is a risk of not finding a quality home;
  3. if recreation centers and sanatoriums often have their own beach, then in the case of private real estate this is a great rarity.

If the minuses do not stop you, then you should look for small settlements such as Ilyich, Kuchugury, Priazovsky, Krugloye, the villages of Taman or Golubitskaya. In such settlements, there is a rather large private quarter, and taking into account the fact that they are constantly heard by tourists, the owners try to keep the quality bar high in order to later rent out houses for good money.

An additional benefit of searching in these particular villages is thatrest on the Azov sea in 2019 in the private sector we cannot imagine without a normal infrastructure. Therefore, in such popular places among travelers there are shops, cafes, attractions. There are also plenty of hotels, so tired of your house, you can easily change the location (if, of course, there are free rooms).

If you use "personalities", then Golubitskaya is suitable for those who want to improve their health, because there are many sanatoriums located in it. Taman is ideal for those who want peace, sea and interesting architecture. So, in it you can find the Intercession Church, the first in the Kuban, the only Turkish wells of its kind in Russia, the Lermontov house-museum, the Finagoria fortress. A similar situation is with Krugly, near which there are several dozen ancient burial mounds. As you can see, small villages have a lot to offer even to capricious tourists, especially for intimate family travelers.

Holidays on the coast

Sea of Azov: resort cities

Not everyone likes small villages, someone likes to feel the holiday atmosphere around them. Fortunately, what's aroundSea of Azovscattered a large numberresort cities where life throbs all night. FROMThe most popular is probably Yeisk. It houses a large number of sanatoriums, especially those dealing with respiratory diseases.

Yeisk

But it is famous not only for its medical institutions: many recreation centers, cinemas, cafes and restaurants. At its core, Yeisk is a tourist city with a developed infrastructure, which is not inferior to Turkish or Thai competitors. Like most of the best Azov vacation spots, it is located on the Taman Peninsula and comes into contact with the warm waters of the Yeisk Bay, which explains the excellent climatic conditions in the summer in the village.

Shchelkino

U Yolkino is a town in the Crimean part of the Azov region with a large number of boarding houses and a beautiful sandy beach. Its superiority can be considered the location on the Kerch Peninsula, where the waters always warm well, and the air is rich in salt.

Primorsko-Akhtarsk

Primorsko-Akhtarsk is also famous for its natural conditions. Firstly, it is located not far from Lake Khan and several other reservoirs of this type. They are rich in salt, isolated from the sea, and very beneficial if you have breathing problems. Secondly, this city is located between the Taman and Taganrog regions, which is why many people never come here and a quiet atmosphere always prevails.

Azov

Azov and the Pavlo-Ochakovskaya spit, which is located nearby, are also quite famous among our fellow citizens. The latter is an alluvial shell-sand natural formation with a large number of well-groomed beaches. Nearby there is a highway connecting Azov and Yeysk, so it is quite easy to get here, and if you have nowhere to put your car, then paid parking is at your service.

Nature and excursions

It is generally accepted that natural beauty is not the strong point of the Azov Sea. Among the landscapes, steppes dominate, the vegetation is rather poor, because the hot air leaves little moisture for it. We want to assure you that the situation is not quite the same.... Of course, most resorts located near beaches, where there is no place for dense forests, but the entire Krasnodar Territory and Crimea are famous for beautiful places.

If you do not belong to a cohort of people who are ready to spend all 10 or 14 days of vacation in only one location, then the Azov region will satisfy your tastes. There is a whole scattering of interesting places:

  • Salt lake, famous for its waters;
  • Tuzla spit;
  • waterfalls in the Dzhegosh gorge;
  • springs of St. Barbara;
  • many places where wine is made;
  • Tiger and Tender caves.

All of the above objects are located in the Krasnodar region. There are even more of them in the Crimea: from the mountains to the famous Crimean spits.

If you are more into urban motives and architecture, then there are options here too. For example, you can visit Krasnodar, the administrative center of the region of the same name, or the glorious Rostov-on-Don. Crimea is famous for its architecture and cities: Evpatoria, Sevastopol, Yalta, Bakhchisarai. And if the southern edges of our homeland are closer to you, then it is easy to get to Sochi from the Azov region and wander along their embankment.

It is not necessary to buy an excursion in advance (although this is encouraged), because on the spot you can find many offers from local travel companies.

Rest on the Azov coast

Service level

There is a myth that infrastructure and quality services are not about the Russian Azov region. Perhaps years 15 days ago it was so, but now local tourist centers and hotels are focused on creating competition for other markets, in particular for Turkish firms.

If we take examples, then in the city of Yeysk there are two cinemas, many cafes and restaurants, water parks, an amusement park. You can find both a cheap house and a room in an expensive hotel. The beaches near such buildings are additionally monitored; you can find sun loungers, umbrellas, beach cafes on them. There are patrols and doctors everywhere.

The changes in small settlements did not pass by either. For example, in the village of Golubitskaya, large hotels have also been built, there is a whole scattering of modern sanatoriums.

Reliable assistants

Choosing a place is a pleasant pain, but still a pain. It is sometimes impossible to do this remotely, because there are too many factors that are simply difficult to take into account. Understanding all this, we work for your benefit, choosing the most optimal options for you and organizing interesting tours. We are guided by such concepts as safety, fun, convenience and look for suitable options, taking into account your budget and your personal requirements. In any case, we will find a place that suits you.

The shallowest sea in the world and the warmest sea in Ukraine

The Sea of Azov - the Meotian Lake among the ancient Greeks, Karluk - among the Scythians, the Dark Blue Sea - among the Arabs, the Fish Sea - among the Tatar-Mongols, was known for a long time and does not lose popularity today. Every year tens of thousands of tourists spend their weekends and vacations on its coast - and this is only in domestic resorts.

The Sea of Azov is the shallowest sea in the ocean basin and the warmest in Ukraine.

The maximum depth of the reservoir does not exceed 13.5 meters, and the average indicator is about 7.4 meters, so the sea warms up quickly enough and the water temperature near the coast is already by mid-May often reaches marks + 18 ° С... It is at this time that a full-fledged beach season starts at the resorts of the Azov Sea, which usually lasts almost until the end of September. At the height of summer, the surface layer of water has a temperature of + 26 ... + 28 ° С, and sometimes even higher than + 30 ° С.

The natural features of Azov made the reservoir popular among tourists. A relatively long holiday season - about five months, traditionally warm water, gentle and smooth descent into the sea - these are the main advantages of the Azov recreation.

Some of them are popularly called children's and “all-Union” health resorts in the old fashioned way, and Kirillovka was even given the official status of “Resort of State Significance”.

Map of resorts and the Sea of Azov on the map

This map shows main resort towns on the Azov coast of Ukraine and Russia. For the most relevant resorts in Ukraine on click a link will appear on the label detailed review with a description of the infrastructure, features of recreation, photos, etc.

The Azov Sea geographically and climatically

The Azov Sea in geography is a semi-enclosed sea of the Atlantic basin and the most continental on the planet - in terms of distance from the ocean, located within two countries - Ukraine (territorially - Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson regions, northeastern coast of the Crimean Peninsula) and Russia (Krasnodar Territory , Rostov region).

In comparison with other seas, for example, the Black Sea (with which it is connected through the Kerch Strait - approx.), The Azov is a rather small body of water: its maximum length is about 380 km, its width is about 200 km, and the total length of the coastline does not exceed 1500 km.

Most of the coast of the Sea of \ u200b \ u200bAzov is flat, shallow-shell beaches. The only exceptions are coastal hills of volcanic origin, which can be seen in the southern part of the reservoir.

Climate of the Azov Sea is very strongly influenced by the vast steppe massifs surrounding it from almost all sides both within Ukraine and in the Ciscaucasia and Crimea - with their characteristic low rainfall - an average of 300-500 mm per year.

Therefore, in the resorts of the Sea of \ u200b \ u200bAzov, rains are a rare and short-term phenomenon, like cloudiness - especially in summer, which makes tourists very happy and creates good conditions for a beach holiday.

In summer, a local circulation of air masses is established on the coast in the direction from sea to land - during the day, and from land to sea - at night. These are the well-known breezes that soften even the extreme midday heat. That is why the usual summer air temperature for these latitudes is + 28 ... + 30 ° С and the peak - up to + 45 ° С on the shores of the Sea of Azov is transferred much easier and more comfortable than in city streets.

Azov resorts can boast of high sun activity - for example, in Kirillovka the sunshine time is about 2320 hours a year, which exceeds this figure for the Crimean Yalta.

Features of the coast

The coast of the Azov Sea forms very bizarre shapes and has unusual boundaries. The braids that Azov abounds in formed many estuaries and smoother along the sea coast.

The coastline itself is gentle and smooth, however, many protruding braids give it a rugged appearance.

In some places, the steppes approach the sea, in some places the coast has steep clay slopes washed away by the sea, in some places there are marshy flat areas and, of course, in poorly populated places you can find abundant thickets of reeds.

Plots of forest practically do not border on the sea coast, so the nature here is not as picturesque as, for example, in the Crimea, and at the height of summer it even takes the form of a steppe scorched by the sun. Small plantations of trees are usually either artificial plantings or abundantly overgrown shrubs.

Webcams on the coast

The landscape of the Azov Sea beach area can be seen with the help of webcams installed on the coast. For example, below is a webcam located on the Peresyp spit in the Zaporozhye region.

Fishing

As noted above, the Sea of Azov is warm and shallow. It was these conditions that provided him at one time with a fairly active reproduction of flora and fauna. In terms of the number of plant and animal organisms, Azov was the world leader, and the fish productivity of the sea (the ratio of the total amount of fish to the area of the reservoir) was 40 times higher than the corresponding indicator of the Black Sea and more than 6 times that of the Caspian Sea.

Until recently, the Sea of Azov was considered an inexhaustible treasure for fishing - industrial, amateur, sports. Gobies, flounder, beluga, sturgeon, thorn, stellate sturgeon, ram, herring - all this was far from a complete list of gifts from the depths of the sea.

But due to the consumer attitude to the sea, the population of many fish species has decreased, and some have even added to the list of endangered ones. so, despite the good natural conditions, Azov today is systematically losing the fame of the most "fish" sea.

Today, in the area of Kirillovka, only the Azov goby, or in some cases the pilengas, remained the subject of real fishing.

Recreational effect and health improvement

The coast of the Sea of Azov is not only a popular vacation spot, but also an effective air ionic health resort, working through a combination of healing factors created by nature itself.

The air near Azov is a kind of cocktail that is saturated iodine, bromine, minerals and trace elements- due to active evaporation of water from the surface of the sea and estuaries and phytoncides brought by winds from the steppe massifs.

Provided that there are no industrial enterprises and highways with heavy traffic in the district, such a mix can have a general healing effect and alleviate conditions with acute respiratory viral infections, chronic diseases of the upper respiratory tract and allergic reactions.

The composition of the Azov sea water is also unique in many ways. It contains over 90 chemical elements that have a beneficial effect on the human body. In the bottom layer there is deposits of curative sulphide silt mud formed during the decay of marine flora and fauna. Due to the shallow depth of Azov, even a slight sea agitation turns the water into a suspension of mud, and sea bathing - into a wellness procedure, indicated for diseases of the skin, musculoskeletal system, cardiovascular and nervous systems.

By the way, there is also mud in the sea that is useless and often harmful to health - there is enough of it near the shores of industrial cities and ports.

Useful mud is found not only in the sea, but also in estuaries- salt bays, which are in sufficient quantity in the Azov basin.

The mud of the estuaries is the basis for functioning balneological hospitals located in Kirillovka, Berdyansk and other resorts on the Azov Sea - both in Ukraine and in Russia. In these institutions, vacationers, or rather patients, can be offered treatment that can improve metabolism, correct and stabilize the state of the peripheral nervous system, alleviate asthma and chronic respiratory diseases, after injuries and exacerbations of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, get rid of gynecological and urological problems.

Holidays with children on the Sea of Azov

Children's resort - this is how almost every Azov region can be characterized. On the coast of the Sea of \ u200b \ u200bAzov, the main conditions for the implementation of a proper holiday with children are fulfilled:

Mild climate, lack of acclimatization

The weather in the Azov resorts is sunny days, a sea breeze that softens the summer heat and a breeze that constantly brings new portions of phytoncides from the steppes and ions of iodine and bromine ions to the coast from the sea.

Unlike a trip to the Mediterranean coast and the same South Coast, those who come to Azov do not actually go through the acclimatization period, unless, of course, they are residents of the Far North. That is why rest on the Sea of Azov in resorts remote from industry can be useful for children of almost any age, up to newborns.

Warm water, smooth descent into the sea

As mentioned above, Azov is a shallow sea, so sea water has a comfortable bathing temperature already in May, and in summer the water is "like fresh milk", which is very suitable for kids who sit in the sea for hours. In addition, in most of the Azov resorts there is a sandy coastal strip that does not injure children's legs, and the deepening of the sea is gradual - somewhere more dynamic, somewhere less, but without underwater pits and sharp cliffs.

Familiar food

An important aspect for those who take their children on vacation and make sure that the vacation passes without unpleasant reactions to unfamiliar food that is not specific to our latitudes. Plus - here you can buy seasonal vegetables and fruits grown in the Azov villages, the use of which can replenish the vitamin supply of children and increase immunity.

Pricing policy of the Azov resorts

It is well known that in most of the Azov resorts you can find almost any number- from economy option without amenities to premium or VIP-class housing, accordingly, the price of a vacation can differ significantly.

In addition, the cost of matching numbers may be sufficient different depending on the region... The Azov coast is characterized by a division into inexpensive and expensive resorts.

The main factors for such a pricing are the popularity, "promotion" of recreation, the development of infrastructure, the availability of entertainment facilities and the convenience of transfer.

"Inexpensive" rest

Relax inexpensively on the Sea of Azov within the framework of Ukraine, for example, in Stepanovka Pervaya, Primorsk, Primorsky Posad - without special requests for organizing leisure.

These resorts are purely beach and virtually devoid of infrastructure and entertainment.

Recreation of the middle price category

The most popular resort in the Ukrainian Azov region is Kirillovka, which has all the conditions for tourists not to get bored - a large water park, a dolphinarium, an equestrian theater, an amusement park, a sufficient number of nightclubs, discos, cafes.

Since the high demand for recreation leads to an increase in prices, Kirillovka in this regard has been holding the lead among the Ukrainian resorts of the Azov Sea for many years.

Melekino

The resort village 35 kilometers from Mariupol is also questionable in terms of the ecological cleanliness of the coast, as it is located not far from the city and industrial giants.

The advantages of Melekino include the proximity of housing to the beaches.

Sedovo

The village 55 kilometers from Mariupol is located on the Curve Spit. Small in area, it has about thirty boarding houses, recreation centers and hotels and has a reputation as a relatively clean region, due to its remoteness from large cities and industrial facilities.

Most of the holiday homes in Sedovo are located 20-100 meters from the sea.

The main feature of the resort is rather narrow beaches.

Shchelkino and Cape Kazantip

The city on the northeastern coast of Crimea, built to service a nuclear power plant that has not yet been launched, has the fame of a youth get-together resort.

The Republic of KaZantip or the Republic of Z is an electronic music festival, which until recently took place on the territory of an unfinished nuclear reactor - the main attraction of the region.

In addition to fans of non-stop parties, Cape Kazantip was a haven for windsurfers who took part in the annual competitions for the Russian Funboard Association (RFA) Federation Cup.

Resorts on the Russian coast

And now we will briefly but thoroughly tell you about the resorts located on the Russian coast of the Azov Sea.

Taganrog

The resort town in the Rostov region, founded by Peter the Great in 1698, is included in the list of historical cities of Russia.

Taganrog is a seaport and industrial center of southern Russia with large metallurgical and machine-building industries.

There is virtually no point in talking about any environmental friendliness of the resort.

First of all, tourists here may be interested in a well-developed infrastructure, historical sights and cultural sites.

Yeisk

The city on the Sea of Azov in the Krasnodar Territory is located between the Taganrog Bay and the Yeisk estuary, at the base of the Yeisk spit.

Unlike Taganrog, the city does not have very large industrial facilities, but there are plenty of attractions and entertainment.

The most popular among tourists is the Yeisk Spit, which has the largest beaches, sanatoriums, recreation centers, cafes and restaurants.

No less popular is the Kupechesky District, which attracts tourists with its ancient architecture, and the Taganrog Embankment, which is considered the heart of the resort.

In Yeisk there is an operating port and a railway, which add convenience in terms of transfer, but negatively affect the ecological state of recreation.

Primorsko-Akhtarsk

The resort is located on the Akhtarsky Bay in the northwestern part of the Krasnodar Territory.

Among the listed Russian recreations, Primorsko-Akhtarsk can be called the most environmentally friendly.

The main industrial load here is taken on by canning mini-fish factories, there are no large industrial facilities in the resort, and the railway station can hardly cause too much damage to the cleanliness of air and water.

The disadvantages of recreation include a rather modest supply of housing at the resort and an underdeveloped infrastructure.

Taman Peninsula

The Krasnodar resort region is unique not only in that it is washed by two seas - the Azov and Black seas, but also the presence of volcanoes spewing mud - active, extinct and dormant.

Taman. © Andrey Sigida.

The largest and most famous among them are the Akhtanizovskaya and Karabetova hills, the Hephaestus volcano.

Taman. © Maxim Korenevsky.

The pearl of Taman is a local "Switzerland", a protected area with wild vegetation, which is very suitable for lovers of secluded relaxation in the bosom of nature.

Due to its shallow depth and relatively small size, the Sea of Azov is superbly warmed by the first spring rays of the sun and is already available for swimming in April. This significantly increases the holiday season, and in May there are already quite a few people who want to get a golden southern tan. When planning your upcoming vacation, you need to have a good idea of what awaits at a particular resort. As the map of the coast of the Sea of Azov in Russia shows, the length of the domestic coastline stretches for 250 kilometers. The waves of the reservoir wash the western borders of the Krasnodar Territory, the eastern coast of the Crimea and through the Kerch Strait connect with the deeper Black Sea.

Climatic conditions of the Azov region

Unlike the Black Sea, the coast of the Azov Sea lacks lush vegetation, and the air is dry and hot. Almost constantly blowing wind carries a sultry spicy smell of steppe grasses, intricately intertwined with the fresh scent of the sea breeze. Such a climate is very favorable for heart disease and respiratory tract sufferers. This is not to say that there is no rain during the summer, but they are so fleeting and warm in summer that they are not able to spoil the holiday mood. The sea water temperature is 20 degrees in late spring, and in July-August this figure can rise to 32 degrees. The sea of Azov is warmly and hospitably offered by the resorts of Russia, ready to provide high-quality health improvement and good rest:

  • Dolzhanskaya braid;
  • Kuchugury;
  • the village of Priazovsky;
  • Yeisk;
  • Taganrog;
  • Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
  • Golubitskaya;
  • Taman.

Extremely affordable prices, comfortable accommodation, the warmth of sea water and the absence of deep places throughout the coastal zone make the Azov Sea very attractive for families with children.

Yeisk

Located 1,300 kilometers from the Russian capital, Yeisk is perfect for families. This is the largest Kuban resort with a very convenient location. It has its own airport and railway station, and it is easy to get here from Moscow by any means of transport. The city has a modern sanatorium of a wide profile, offering high-quality health improvement to parents and children. For those wishing to relax in Yeisk, there are numerous hotels, as well as in the private sector. This place has long been chosen by lovers of kiting and windsurfing, and for those who want to master extreme sports, experienced specialists of recently opened surf stations give introductory lessons.

The village of Taman

On the shores of the Taman Bay, the village of Taman is located, annually attracting numerous tourists with cheerful themed holidays and various festivals. The free and independent spirit of the Cossacks reigns here, you can get acquainted with its traditions and peculiar way of life. Various cultural events are often held in Taman, and although the tourist infrastructure could be better developed, a trip to the village leaves a lot of impressions. From here to the Black Sea is only 10 kilometers.

Kuchugury

It is worth paying special attention to the village of Kuchugury when the question of where to relax on the Sea of Azov is being discussed. It is famous for its crystal clear water and fine sandy beaches. The purity of the sea surface of the Golubaya Bay, on the shore of which the village is located, is explained by its remoteness from the Kerch Strait. In Kuchugury there is a calm atmosphere, a shallow warm sea, clean beaches and a decently developed infrastructure. Modern private hotels and guest houses are actively being built and opened here, local residents are vying with each other to offer to settle in neat well-kept houses. In the evening, you will not be bored in the village; various entertainment establishments work.

Stanitsa Golubitskaya

Sanatoriums and comfortable recreation centers, cozy private buildings and many small comfortable hotels, numerous cafes and youth evening discos - all this turns the village of Golubitskaya into an attractive resort with a well-developed infrastructure. A wide sandy beach and a unique lake with healing mud are at the service of those who have chosen the second most popular Azov resort as a holiday destination. Like other settlements on the coast, Golubitskaya is perfect for children's recreation; an excellent water park has been arranged here for children. The nearest railway station is Temryuk, and by plane you need to fly to.

The attractiveness of the Azov region

With all the variety of resorts on the coast of the Azov Sea, there are many common attractive factors influencing the decision to go here - warm sea, excellent fishing, peace and safety, unique conditions for windsurfing and sailing. And at the same time, there is a real opportunity to acquire all these benefits at an affordable cost. Is it worth giving preference to foreign resorts, when in your homeland you can relax just as well and spend it!

It is the shallowest on planet Earth. It washes only two states and is one of the most popular regional resorts for the whole family. Due to the shallow depth, you can come with children even at the beginning of May. Despite the relatively average development of the tourist infrastructure, in comparison with the Black Sea and western resorts, the popularity of the sea is increasing every year.

Sea of Azov: description, photo, video

The Azov Sea in the Rostov region has a very modest size. Its width does not exceed 200 kilometers, and its length varies within 380. The total length of the coastline is 2,686 kilometers, and the area is 37,800 thousand square kilometers, excluding islands and spits. The maximum depth of the reservoir reaches 13.5 meters, and the average depth is about 8 meters. Many millennia ago, there was no water on this territory. Only in about 5600 BC the sea area familiar to today began to form.

The Sea of Azov had many names and was renamed several times. The origin of the current name is not known for certain. According to one of the versions, Scythian tribes lived in the vicinity of the reservoir. Their settlement was called "Ahsoki", which is similar to "Azov". The Sea of Azov is remote from the World Ocean, therefore it belongs to the class of continental water bodies. In the cold season, it partially, and sometimes completely, freezes.

The bottom relief of the reservoir is quite simple. The increase in depth is slow and smooth. The deepest part is concentrated in the center of the sea. There are also hills at the bottom. Two of them are stretched in the western direction - the Morskaya and Arabatskaya banks, and one in the eastern direction - Zhelezinskaya. The northern coast is characterized by wide shallow waters. Almost all the shores are flat and sandy, except for the south, where hills are common.

One of the characteristic features of the reservoir is a large indented coastline. Sandbanks, small islands, spits and floodplains - all this can be found walking along the Sea of Azov. Photos of these places are mesmerizing. The largest spits are located in the north - Berdyanskaya, Krivaya, Belosaraiskaya and Obitochnaya. Among the islands, the largest are Biryuchiy, Sandy and Turtle. The latter was created artificially by order of Peter the Great.

The Azov Sea is a great place for diving. However, when diving, you must take into account one feature - poor visibility, here the water is not as clear as on. To admire the underwater world, you need to dive in the morning at dawn. The reward for an early rise will be the remains of ships, many of which have turned into fantastic objects under the influence of mud.

Dry air and healing mud contribute to a wellness holiday. On the territory of the Sea of Azov, there are sanatoriums with a variety of health and medical programs. Among other destinations, it is worth noting a good infrastructure for extreme water sports. One side of the reservoir washes the Crimean peninsula with parks, palaces and monasteries. On the other side is Taman - an amazing land with mud volcanoes and ancient ruins.
