Tourist development

The tent is a house in the campaign. Not only comfort, but also safety depends on its reliability and convenience. It was for this reason that the Italian tent Ferrino has become its first signature foreign trade in my tourist equipment, which, thanks to its classical universal design, optimal dimensions and the highest quality of production (then Made in Italy!) It served 15 years (! !!).

Purpose: 2-seater 4-season assault tent. My most serious tent!

Strengths : incredibly strong, warm and comfortable. Strength is achieved due to the design of four (!) Arcs from durable but light aluminum and a large number of conveniently adjustable detensions. The tent is warm due to the very dense tissue of the "inner" tent. But the main thing in this tent is convenience and comfort of living. It is ensured due to a large number of pockets in the inner tent, two inputs, two tamboras (one of which is full, and the second is very small), as well as the presence of a simply fantastic ventilation system (a comfortable temperature inside the tent can be ensured by almost any weather and in any situation. It is hot - you can open end-to-end windows, located under the dome of the tent and duplicated by the grid, it is possible to fully close everything. I think it is very important and use this opportunity constantly, because good ventilation is a guarantee of good sleep and rest. In general, the tent is really very comfortable. In it really can live a week and not to bathe! It is also great that the design allows you to install only the inner tent if the weather is good. That is how we did on Elbrus in the days when there were no precipitation!

Weak sides : In the tent "forwarding", the assault class would be useful to the skirt, at least on the vestibule, so that the snow would not bloom, as in Kamchatka (in later versions, this flaw is corrected!). I would also like that the second tambour would be slightly more spacious, and not just "output + 30 cm space under shoes." Then it was possible to cook and arrange a kitchen in one, and through the second - walk / go out. And of course, the weight of the tent in 4 kilos is a lot for two-room. But, on the other hand, miracles do not happen - it is still very spacious and functional, and not "minimalistic."

In the campaign in Switzerland in the summer of 2015, I still died, my favorite Ferrino Movin 2000 tent (description on the Equipment page, used earlier), which served faithfully for more than 15 years, since 1998. The tent lasted 24 campaigns and 154 hiking days! When choosing a replacement for this tent, I came to the conclusion that I want to replace it with two tents: easier "treshka" for family campaigns and "two-plate" for full-fledged mountain trips. Requirements for the "two-room" I had such:

• Strong frame. The frame of the Mountain Hangs Tent must necessarily be with a full-fledged classic cross-stop of two arcs in the center of the tent (the so-called X-frame), and not a fashionable Z-frame, which is easier, but the wind is worse.
• Strong fabrics. Wind and rain in the mountains are much stronger than on the plain. Requirements for the materials of the Mountain Tent Elevated. In my opinion, the density of the awning should be at least 30-40d, the bottom is not less than 70d.
• Two tambura. Believe me, two tambura is convenient. Very comfortably! And in the end - comfortable. And in the mountains we go to rest, and not suffer. But there is one thing: a bright tent is noticeable to other people, including the county of the Caucasian biosphere reserve, hiking for which I love to walk. And although there are a number of absolutely legal routes in the reserve (my guide to the Red Polyana), very sometimes I want to go on violation! In general, I realized that I need not a bright tent.

I have this tent not so long ago, therefore I have not visited such a large number of hiking. • Well, the last nuance, which flows out of the three-season destination of this tent - in hot weather in it is stuffy and hot, since the inner tent is not made of the grid, but from an unsuccessful tissue.

Long and slowly choosing a tent, and examined, including popular MSR headlocks with us, I stopped at the Copper Spur UL model 3 of the legendary American company Big Agnes, famous for its ultrasound tents. In this tent I liked the following points:

• Incredibly low weight. In our family campaigns, I will have (and already) to carry a lot of equipment on us three, so that every gram now has become important than ever. A BIG AGNES CUPPER SPUR UL3 is one of the easiest three-bedroom design tents today and with two tambura. Here is a review in our blog. Weight in the basic configuration - 1.9 kg. If you now consider such a tent indicator as the ratio of the useful inner volume of the tent to its weight, then this indicator is my header almost three (!!!) times better than my old Ferrino! That's what progress means!
• The presence of two tambourov. When with you in the campaign, and even with a small child - two tambours are not a luxury, but practically the need! "Logistics" in a tent with two tambura is incommensurable more convenient and easier: one tambour is used for "kitchen" and storage of things, and the second is for the entry / exit from the tent. This is not just very convenient, but also safely.
• Top of the inner tent from the gridand not from dense fabric. Thanks to this, admire the nature even without catching out of the tent (through a tambour or at all throwing half the upper awning (an unrealistic cool chip of such tents designs !!). Of course, the use of "retina" in the inner tent, and not dense tissue, makes it very less warm. But living in Sochi, we can afford to go to family campaigns in the vicinity of the Red Polyana choosing days with good weather, so I don't need a "warm" tent for these purposes. • Positive design. Purely subjective, I really liked her positive appearance. Sunny tent, joyful, bright! It is very cool. In many tents, feelings, unfortunately, completely different ...

I want to note the following important features of the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 tent:

• The tent requires daily drying. The third feature is also associated with the general property of modern ultra-light tents. To ensure waterproof, the tent tent is siliconized. Because of this, the tent relatively badly "breathes", and in the morning collects condensate on the inside of the awning. Taking into account the foregoing, I want to warn from buying this tent of tourists with minimal hiking experience. To fully enjoy the advantages of this tent in the weight and comfort of the internal space, you need to know a lot and be able to ... Be able to correctly choose a place for the tent so that it does not put it with the wind, to know how to put it on this very wind, be able to handle it so that Do not break. If you are an experienced tourist, then for you it is possible the best tent from what is now on the market, because the triple tent with two tambura weighing only 1.8 kg is not a miracle! And for me, this is, as expected when buying, a very light, spacious and comfortable tent for simple trekking and hiking hikes without overnight stays at an altitude or on passes.

She stood as a fabulous palace among the gray tent world.

Many where that tent visited: in the Caucasus and in the Baltic States, in Crimea and Transcarpathia, in Belarusian forests stood among the fields of Ukraine. When I hit twenty years old, I got a miracle - a tent from the attic and decided to use it for its intended purpose. Alas, the very first rain showed that nothing was always and the eternal tarp palace went to the dump of history.

And I began to build my camp under my fishing tasks. And that's what, as a result, built.

Receipt is made to divide short and long. Although it is not entirely true. A couple is a three men who are fastened on fishing, will greatly live a couple of weeks in the most spartan conditions. On long (or "comfortable"), the camp departures are thoroughly, with all possible amenities and wisdoms. It is very desirable that the equipment for both types of trips to the maximum crossed - so cheaper and more convenient. But, alas, it does not always work.

Let's start with the tent

Everywhere and always the author uses such small tents with a small tambour (photo 3). They organized them alternately three pieces! When I'm going one - I take the "my" tent. If you add a second for my wife and third to children.

Places such tents occupy a little, installed, with some skill, in 10 minutes. But everyone has their own, separate apartment. No one snores, does not breathe in the face of evening alcohol, does not push in a dream. Twin tents, but one in them is freely, especially large people. In addition, there is a place for clothes and all sorts of small things. In a small tambone, it is convenient to store shoes and the entrance from the rain it protects.

I personally consider a big "family-run" tent personally (although I understand that not everyone shares my point of view). In it, of course, you can fold the mountain of things, put the table and even cook food. But we do differently: if you are going a crowd or for a long time, we take a tent. He and the kitchen and dining room and living room and cabin are a company and shelter from rain and wind. The tent is needed with a sturdy metal frame and double walls. In the heat - grid. In the cold or rain, the grid is closed with a cloth. For a short departure of one or two people, a small compact awning is suitable. He will protect him from the sun and will tap.

The main subject of internal arrangement is a tourist kitchen table. Very comfortable thing! There are different sizes, for long trips more conveniently large kitchen (photo 6), for short departure - simple tourist (photo 7). I prefer to sit on the simplest folded chair (yes, I also know about the armchairs). I choose stronger and higher. And necessarily with legs-brackets (as in the photo). This is not sinking in a viscous soil under the sedock. With folding seats, I did not make friends (or because of the growth of 195 cm, whether 140 kg is due to weight). They seem to me cumbersome and not very reliable. Those who cost real money do not hold a lot of weight and quickly fail, and expensive prices pull on polished headsets.

For long gatherings of a large company, folding tables and tables are not very suitable - painfully a shaky design. In such cases, we use the folding table (or tables) as economic, and the normal dining table is pounding from a tree. Like benches. Find a few boards is not a problem if you get acquainted with it.

Food is prepare for gas. The bonfire is very romantic, but dirty and dirty. Therefore, the bonfire stays for the soul or for smokers. In the tent, under the kitchen table on the "long" departures there is an ordinary household gas cylinder for two-door tiles.

For short departures I use approximately such cylinders with different nozzles - and for "cook", and to "enjoy".

Here you and gas and light. Although quite short-term trips today, probably, it is more profitable to use "long" cylinders and equipment for them. They are cheaper, there are on sale everywhere and equipment for them is also a "car and a small trolley."

Light is a big topic!

They listed with conventional lanterns, then luminescent, tried gas, kerosene and gasoline lamps. Then the LED lanterns came - the most "long-playing" ... and then one of our comrade acquired a compact generator, and life has changed.

Phones and other plates are always charged, the light is plenty. Comfortable thing!

"Personal" light provide cheap pads (photos 16), divided by all corners: in a tent, in the car, in the kitchen, in a box with fishing baits. Electric flashlight type "Bat" is convenient for night fishing (photo 17). A powerful "spotlight" also carries with you, but almost not use (photo 18).

About dishes

Special compact and light kits and bowlers let go to hiking tourists. For serious departures, I prefer spacious reliable boilers or even ... Old Pots from home. Pans also prefer large, with non-stick coating. We live with comfort and concentrates do not eat.

Personal dishes each chooses to taste. I use vintage bowls, spoons and stainless steel plugs. But I don't like metal mugs - the army is reminded. I drink from quite a home mug made by their "unbreakable" glass.

Another thing is short trips. A small bowler with a lid - the bowl, inside of which fit: a mug, spoon, matches and tin with tea, sugar and salt. To stir up something "instant" and drink a seagull - quite enough.

Forgot another important point ...

Having tried various types of litters, stopped on a self-taking mat (photo 19). Sleeping bag prefer the usual, type "blanket" (photo 20).

It is necessary - fastened and got a bag. It is necessary - unbuttoned and here you have a blanket. Bloodstones, by the way, I have two: simple light, on warm weather and a serious warmed, in which you can sleep with frost with comfort.

Even in the databases where there is no bathroom in the house, we do not need every half an hour to run to the public toilet with each child, especially at night. (Well, street toilets - not always a pleasant thing).

By the way, if the room allows (and we try to allow :-)), on the night, the tent with the toilet moves to the house. There is a special fluid to the toilet, plus it closes hermetically, so there is no smell.

Now we still dream of a shower tent.

Accommodation options

The main thing is what we are focusing.
For many reasons, the financial party is not the only one. This option also adds mobility, we are less attached to the terrain and dates.

Food

We have a gas stove, so, in principle, you can also cook at home. The only condition is from what is in stock.

Our hiking menu: Porridge, boiled potatoes, pasta with stew, canned soup, vegetable salad, boiled eggs - nothing special.

We have a good version of rice with a garnish (green peas, corn, beans in tomato). True, the crumbly rice is not obtained, but everything is sweeping anyway (especially if lunch lingers slightly). Here it is our wicked rice porridge with fresh cut "preventing".

Another find in the hike is a vegetable stew. Quickly, tasty, inexpensive. For particularly picky, it was called a fried salad and went with a bang.

On the snacks on the go - fruits, vegetables, gingerbread, buns, crackers with melted cheese.

Our traditional dinner (although sometimes breakfast or afternooner).

Bread with fresh honey and real milk.
Just, satisfying and useful.

Festive dessert. In principle, it is nougat, only at the heat she melted and went instead of warm ice cream. ;-)

What we take with you: Pan, frying pan, stove, disposable dishes, garbage bags, auto thump.

The tent is a house in the campaign. Not only comfort, but also safety depends on its reliability and convenience. It was for this reason that the Italian tent Ferrino has become its first signature foreign trade in my tourist equipment, which, thanks to its classical universal design, optimal dimensions and the highest quality of production (then Made in Italy!) Purpose: 2-seater 4-season assault tent. My most serious tent!

Strengths : incredibly strong, warm and comfortable. Strength is achieved due to the design of four (!) Arcs from durable but light aluminum and a large number of conveniently adjustable detensions. The tent is warm due to the very dense tissue of the "inner" tent. But the main thing in this tent is convenience and comfort of living. It is ensured due to a large number of pockets in the inner tent, two inputs, two tamboras (one of which is full, and the second is very small), as well as the presence of a simply fantastic ventilation system (a comfortable temperature inside the tent can be ensured by almost any weather and in any situation. It is hot - you can open end-to-end windows, located under the dome of the tent and duplicated by the grid, it is possible to fully close everything. I think it is very important and use this opportunity constantly, because good ventilation is a guarantee of good sleep and rest. In general, the tent is really very comfortable. In it really can live a week and not to bathe! It is also great that the design allows you to install only the inner tent if the weather is good. That is how we did on Elbrus in the days when there were no precipitation!

Weak sides : In the tent "forwarding", the assault class would be useful to the skirt, at least on the vestibule, so that the snow would not bloom, as in Kamchatka (in later versions, this flaw is corrected!). I would also like that the second tambour would be slightly more spacious, and not just "output + 30 cm space under shoes." Then it was possible to cook and arrange a kitchen in one, and through the second - walk / go out. And of course, the weight of the tent in 4 kilos is a lot for two-room. But, on the other hand, miracles do not happen - it is still very spacious and functional, and not "minimalistic."

Purpose: Classic double tourist tent. The most universal of all my tents. If I had no opportunity to have a lot of tents, I would bought one such a plan.

In the campaign in Switzerland in the summer of 2015, I still died, my favorite Ferrino Movin 2000 tent (description on the Equipment page, used earlier), which served faithfully for more than 15 years, since 1998. The tent lasted 24 campaigns and 154 hiking days! When choosing a replacement for this tent, I came to the conclusion that I want to replace it with two tents: easier "treshka" for family campaigns and "two-plate" for full-fledged mountain trips. Requirements for the "two-room" I had such:

• Strong frame. The frame of the Mountain Hangs Tent must necessarily be with a full-fledged classic cross-stop of two arcs in the center of the tent (the so-called X-frame), and not a fashionable Z-frame, which is easier, but the wind is worse.
• Strong fabrics. Wind and rain in the mountains are much stronger than on the plain. Requirements for the materials of the Mountain Tent Elevated. In my opinion, the density of the awning should be at least 30-40d, the bottom is not less than 70d.
• Two tambura. Believe me, two tambura is convenient. Very comfortably! And in the end - comfortable. And in the mountains we go to rest, and not suffer. Those who deny the need for two tambours for a double tent usually refer to weight gain. But damn, I am ready to enjoy the additional two-three hundred grams (100-150 grams per brother) Weight for convenience!
• Accuracy color. Specific requirement! In fact, I always said that the mountain tent should be as bright as possible, ideally - orange. This is the element of the so-called "passive safety". A bright tent is much easier to find. It does not matter who - you, returning to the fog and bad weather from the radial or, God forbid, rescuers. But there is one thing: a bright tent is noticeable to other people, including the county of the Caucasian biosphere reserve, hiking for which I love to walk. And although there are a number of absolutely legal routes in the reserve (my guide to the Red Polyana), very sometimes I want to go on violation! In general, I realized that I need not a bright tent.

I have this tent not so long ago, therefore I have not visited such a large number of hiking. However, in two campaigns on Abkhazia (a campaign on a small rice and campaign on the Arabica Plateau), hike and in Iceland she was as impossible by the way! More detailed review will make it later. I bought this tent as very light, but at the same time a roomy trip for hiking in Fast & Light format in spring or autumn, when it can be cold and windy. Bribed me one point - with actual three-season (the inner part of the tent is not made of the grid, but from a dense material) the weight of the tent in the full configuration is only 1.3 kg. The tent is planned to be used primarily in spring-autumn campaigns with a fear night temperature near zero and below.

Pros:

• Large inner length. The length of the inner tent is 244 cm (which is why in the title there is a prefix "+"). This is done specifically in order to be in bad weather (snow, blizzard, cold wind) it was possible to store things (backpacks) right in the tent. They really fit in their feet without any problems. And of course, such a tent is perfect for tourists high and very high growth!

Features:

As in all in our life, the consumes of this tent are a direct consequence of her advantages. To reduce weight, designers had to sacrifice some moments.

• The tent is not free-standing ("independent") design. To install it requires fixing delay. For "experienced" tourists, of course, not a problem, because more about ten years ago, we did not know other tents at all). Nevertheless, sometimes it can strain like our first night with this tent in the Bavarian Alps. Then we stood right on the soil-rubble road (the road was traversed with a steep slope and there was simply no other flat sites) and no pegs were included in the ground. I had to climb on the forest in the darkness and look for stones to somehow pull out the delay.
• Entrance to one and from the end (from the head), and not two on the sides, as I love. This is of course much less convenient.
• Despite the large area of \u200b\u200bthe bottom of the tent due to the design features of the internal volume is not so great. The side walls in it are inclined, and not vertical as in classic already the designs of the type "hub-hub".
• Well, the last nuance, which flows out of the three-season destination of this tent - in hot weather in it is stuffy and hot, since the inner tent is not made of the grid, but from an unsuccessful tissue.

Purpose: Ultra-easy triple tent

Last year, our son turned two years old and I realized that we need a lightweight, but the most comfortable triple tent for our family campaigns in the mountains of the Red Polyana. My old "treshka" Ferrino Movin 2000 sample 1997 was still alive, but did not fully suit me at least three reasons. Firstly, she was heavy - almost 3 kilos per treachery for dad, who to carry out the tray in our time. Secondly, with fig ventilation - in the heat in it it was unrealistic, and in Red Polyana, wherever now live, in the mountains in general, it is usually warm enough. Well, thirdly, she had only one vestibule, which is extremely uncomfortable for family campaigns with a small child!

Long and slowly choosing a tent, and examined, including popular MSR headlocks with us, I stopped at the Copper Spur UL model 3 of the legendary American company Big Agnes, famous for its ultrasound tents. In this tent I liked the following points:

• Incredibly low weight. In our family campaigns, I will have (and already) to carry a lot of equipment on us three, so that every gram now has become important than ever. A BIG AGNES CUPPER SPUR UL3 is one of the easiest three-bedroom design tents today and with two tambura. Here is a review in our blog. Weight in the basic configuration - 1.9 kg. Full weight, including pegs, deceleration and even an additional bottom (not coming in the kit) a little more than two kilograms!
• Spacious and interior dimensions. Family trips are not tin and hardcore "sports campaigns". In a hike with his wife and child, you want a maximum of comfort, and if you have a small child and a girl, then believe me, you will have a bunch of clothes, and all this would be good to place inside the tent. Big Agnes Cupper Spur is just a huge and spacious! You get into it, and I can not believe it! The bottom of the tent - 229 cm (!!), width - 178 cm, and she also has practical vertical side walls. Thanks to all this, the tent is very spacious. Subjectively, compared to the old Ferrino, places in it are twice as much !! If you now consider such a tent indicator as the ratio of the useful inner volume of the tent to its weight, then this indicator is my header almost three (!!!) times better than my old Ferrino! That's what progress means!
• The presence of two tambourov. When with you in the campaign, and even with a small child - two tambours are not a luxury, but practically the need! "Logistics" in a tent with two tambura is incommensurable more convenient and easier: one tambour is used for "kitchen" and storage of things, and the second is for the entry / exit from the tent. This is not just very convenient, but also safely.
• Top of the inner tent from the gridand not from dense fabric. Thanks to this, admire the nature even without catching out of the tent (through a tambour or at all throwing half the upper awning (an unrealistic cool chip of such tents designs !!). Of course, the use of "retina" in the inner tent, and not dense tissue, makes it very less warm. But living in Sochi, we can afford to go to family campaigns in the vicinity of the Red Polyana choosing days with good weather, so I don't need a "warm" tent for these purposes. If you, unlike us, look for a "warm" tent in Which is planning to spend the night at negative temperatures - this tent is not for you.
• Positive design. Purely subjective, I really liked her positive appearance. Sunny tent, joyful, bright! It is very cool. In many tents, feelings, unfortunately, completely different ...

I want to note the following important features of the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL3 tent:

• Not high wind resistance. Tag design Tent - Z-frame with four dents from the ends - does not imply use in the highlands. The wind resistance of the tent is not very high, and take in hiking with the installation of the camps above the forest zone are needed with great care. This is especially true of the double version - Copper Spur UL2. But I took exactly for family campaigns (when you carry everything for three), and with my family we go to the mountains only with a good forecast, so I think that my choice is justified. If you are planning long autonomous hiking in highlands and or in areas with a high probability of tightening bad weather (Kamchatka, Polar Urals, Sayany), this tent is not for you.
• Very subtle materials. The relief of the tent is achieved among the use of very thin materials in its design and especially the day. • Additional pegs are required. The pegs in the basic configuration of the tent is not enough to stretch all the decenes, how much is in the tent. I bought four additional cavallers for end trap.
• The tent requires daily drying. The third feature is also associated with the general property of modern ultra-light tents. To ensure waterproof, the tent tent is siliconized. Because of this, the tent relatively badly "breathes", and in the morning collects condensate on the inside of the awning. This feature of tents with siliconized awning requires their hedgehogs of the tent before laying in a backpack. The case, in general, is not at all difficult, and requires an additional ten-fifteen minutes of time (decompose the tent in the sun, to dry, collect) and, in fact, the sun itself (which, unfortunately, does not always happen in the mountains).
