While resting in one of the resorts of the Costa del Sol, you can make a lot of excursion trips, because there is no more interesting resort region: the world-famous monuments are only a fatigue-away drive or bus ride away. It should also be said about Seville- the main city of Andalusia and an obligatory part of the cultural program. Nowadays, Seville is the 4th largest city in Spain, now the construction of the metro is in full swing there. During a sightseeing tour, you will see the city and its most interesting architectural monument - the Cathedral. The height of the cathedral is 116 m, it is the third largest Christian cathedral in the world (after the cathedral of St. Peter in Rome and St. Paul in London), and the largest of the Gothic ones.

The fourth popular excursion on the coast is the famous city Rhonda- high in the mountains there is an ancient Spanish city, divided into two parts by the deep Tajo gorge. Here you will learn about the history of bullfighting by visiting the oldest bullring in Spain and the bullfighting museum. Explore a typical home of a wealthy family from the 18th century and visit the distinctive Cathedral.

At the end of my story about this wonderful corner of Spain - Andalusia, I would like to add a few more words. The features of the Costa del Sol include the temperature of the water near its shores... In summer, the sea is somewhat cooler here than in other Mediterranean resorts: the Atlantic Ocean is very close. In my opinion, this is the only negative, and even then a relative one. Otherwise, it is just wonderful here: a well-developed infrastructure, a comfortable climate, a lot of entertainment for children and adults, a variety of excursions, wonderful cuisine and much more.

With all the advantages of resting in Malaga itself, it is still a large metropolis. For a classic beach holiday, tourists usually go to the vicinity of Malaga, and the nearest resort town to it is Torremolinos. It is located just 8 km from Malaga. Getting there is very easy. High-speed trains run there directly from the airport. Travel time to stop La Colina - only 15 minutes, Montemar Alto - 20 minutes.

The sandy beaches of Torremolinos are considered some of the best in Spain. There are quite affordable prices for accommodation, restaurants and other entertainment. The town is quite small. But it must be borne in mind that it is located on hills and in order to go somewhere, as a rule, you have to overcome significant climbs. Therefore, it is better to choose a hotel closer to the sea. But from there to the city center you still have to climb up. These disadvantages are compensated by the picturesque place. In the evenings, here, as elsewhere on the Costa del Sol, nightlife rages. The Montemar Alto area (Carihuela beach) is quieter and more family-friendly, with the liveliest area starting from the Meliá Costa del Sol and on to the Bajondillo beach area.

It is the next settlement after Torremolinos on the Costa del Sol. It is easy to get there along the edge of the sea. One village smoothly turns into another.

Compared to Torremolinos, Benalmadena is much larger. It is also located on a hill.

In Benalmadena, you need to be careful when choosing a place to stay - it may take half an hour to walk up to the sea, or even more. They say that some foreign tourists never get to the sea, hanging out in the bars closest to the hotel during the day and at discos at night.

The beaches in Benalmadena are excellent, equipped with everything you need.
The city has a developed tourist infrastructure: there is a port with yachts, there are several routes of tourist trains. There is a Sea life aquarium, an amusement park "Tivoli", a cable car.
You can get to Benalmadena from Malaga by bus, but it is not very convenient to do it by train, since the stop is located quite high in the mountains and far from the sea. But this station is located in close proximity to the Tivoli Park and the cable car.

Prices in Benalmadena are slightly higher than in Torremolinos, apart from areas very remote from the sea, which I would not recommend.

Fuengirola is the final stop of the train from Malaga, it is an hour's drive away. Quite a large city; in the summer, the population here increases to 250 thousand people. Unlike Torremolinos and Benalmadena, it is located on a hill, which reduces the color, but adds comfort. It has everything you need: a water park, an amusement park, a zoo, museums.
Please note that the train station is located at the entrance to the city, and you will have to get there by bus.

What is Spain without bullfighting? The Antonio Ordoñez Museum is entirely dedicated to this favorite entertainment of the Spaniards. He tells and shows everything that is directly or indirectly connected with the bullfight: costumes and swords of matadors, photos and videos of the most famous battles, posters, articles and announcements in the press, etc. As you know, matador Antonio Ordonez himself became the hero of Ernest Hemingway's story “Dangerous summer".

Entertainment for children

This park contains a variety of animals from all over the world, in total there are more than two thousand species. They live in a safari park in natural conditions, and their life can be observed from the side. This park is visited not by tourists for the purpose of entertainment, but also zoologists from all over the world in order to study the animal world.

The entire safari park is divided into three zones, where visitors can walk on foot or take a ride on local buses. And in the area where predatory animals live, you can only move in an armored car. For children, a corner is allocated where they are allowed to communicate with contact animals.

This is not just an ordinary dolphinarium, but a real nursery for marine life. Seals live here next to the dolphins. There are separate areas for seabirds and tropical reptiles. In the cool area, you can see the most real chinstrap penguins.

Every year, the park staff organizes amazing shows with the participation of the inhabitants of the seas, which bring together tourists and residents from all over the coast. For a small fee, you can swim in the large outdoor pool with dolphins and other harmless marine animals.
