The tallest water park slide in the world. The Scariest Roller Coaster in the World The Most Extreme Roller Coaster in the World

There are already so many roller coasters around the world that each new attraction I simply have to declare myself in a special way and raise the bar higher and higher, surprising visitors with even more skillful techniques and helping them to achieve even greater acuteness of emotions. In other words, roller coasters from this list are today's record holders, but tomorrow or the day after tomorrow they may be replaced by new attractions, which today you do not even think about.

1. The world's tallest roller coaster (along with the longest fall phase)

The Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in Jackson, New Jersey has every right to be proud of its roller coasters. The Kingda Ka attraction has been the highest in the world for almost 12 years (140 meters). The length of the route of the trip is 950 meters, and the free fall is carried out for as much as 127 meters. And if all these numbers are not enough for you, then know that Kingda Ka is at the same time in second place among slides in terms of downhill, not much inferior to the leader, whose speed is 205 kilometers per hour.

2. The world's tallest wooden roller coaster

It is not easy to make wooden slides as tall as rides built of steel, but that does not mean that there are no impressive examples among the first ones. For example, the still modern record holder is the Colossos wooden slides from Heide Park, Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany (Soltau, Lower Saxony, Germany). The total length of this is 1,343 meters, but this is not the record. The Colossos is 60 meters high, a worthy achievement for a timber frame. In addition, it is one of the four attractions in the world, made using laser processing to achieve maximum precision in the execution of the components of the structure. That is why these slides are so durable and are among the world record holders.

3. The world's longest steel roller coaster

When the legendary Steel Dragon 2000 was launched at the Japanese amusement park Nagashima Spa Land, it almost immediately became a world record holder. This roller coaster has the longest rails in the world, and the entire structure is unusually high (97 meters). Steel Dragon 2000 stayed at the top in height until Kingda Ka from New Jersey pushed him off the podium. But the Japanese still have one record, and deservedly so - the track "Steel Dragon" has a whopping 2478 meters in length. Another impressive figure is $ 52 million. This is the amount that the creators of this slide paid, taking all safety measures extremely seriously, taking into account the frequent earthquakes for this country. In addition, the Steel Dragon 2000 is the sixth fastest descent ride in the world.

4. The longest wooden roller coaster in the world

The Beast roller coaster from Kings Island is 2,243 meters long, making it the longest wooden roller coaster in the world. This attraction has had its honorary title since 1979, when it was first put into operation, and since then it has delighted visitors for an unforgettable 4 minute ride. These are pretty decent numbers for almost any attraction, and the Beast is far from the most modern amusement structure currently in use. A few more figures: height - 34 meters, maximum fall phase - 43 meters, maximum speed - 104.25 kilometers per hour.

5. The fastest ride in the world

It is not surprising that many of us associate speed with Ferrari. For the same reason, Dubai amusement park owners used the famous brand of the Italian sports car manufacturer to attract as many visitors as possible. Ferrari World abu Dhabi is an amusement park that lives up to its name. Take, for example, the Formula Rossa roller coaster, on which the trolley develops an incredible speed - 241 kilometers per hour! This speed is achieved thanks to the hydraulic launch system, which from standstill accelerates the train to 60 kilometers per hour in just 2 seconds. Passengers of the attraction can feel the maximum speed already after 5 seconds of the trip, which means that during the session you will experience overloads from 1.7 g to 4.8 g. For reference, 1 g can be equated in sensations to the state of rest in the usual gravitational conditions (standing on the ground), and from 4 g and above - this is closer to the sensations of a sports pilot during aerobatics.

6. Record number of coups

The British city of Staffordshire is famous not only for its archaeological discovery in 2009, when a simple treasure hunter discovered treasures worth over 3.5 million dollars in the earth, but also for its amusement park Alton towers... It is here that the Smiler slide is located, which has earned the title of world record holder for the most eventful trip program. Visitors who dare to get into the wagon of this attraction will experience as many as 14 different combinations of coups, corkscrews and dead loops.

Alas, in the history of these roller coasters there is a sad incident - in June 2015, a dangerous collision occurred on the route, and 5 people were then injured of varying severity. The slide was closed for the rest of the season, but in 2016 it was reopened with all the necessary improvements and new safety measures. Since then, the incident has not been repeated.

7. Oldest functioning roller coaster

In Pennsylvania, Leap-The-Dips Park customers can still ride the world's oldest working roller coaster! Since 1902, this track has been delighting fans of wind in their hair and carefree relaxation. In 1985, the well-worn slide was almost closed, but at the last minute it was decided to restore and update the attraction. 14 years later, in 1999, the trailer started moving again. Today, after 115 years of its existence, this roller coaster, which has ridden more than one generation of adrenaline lovers, is one of the last two wooden tracks in the world with boards and the last of its kind in all of North America.

8. The oldest steel slide in the world

We return to Europe. Our next record holder is at the Spanish Monte Igueldo amusement park called Montana Suiza. These were first earned for the adventurous visitors in 1928 and have never retired since. The length of the attraction is 400 meters, the height is 9.8 meters, the ride lasts 1 minute and 30 seconds, the maximum speed is 50 kilometers per hour.

9. Roller coaster with the steepest fall

The Japanese know a lot about entertainment, and another proof of this is the Fuji-Q Highland amusement park and the Takabisha slide, the creators of which set a world record for designing the most vertical trolley fall. The most terrible descent here is along a plane with an inclination angle of 121 degrees! The fall lasts 43 meters of horror, during which the passengers of the train are twisted around the axis of the track 7 times. At this time, a speed of 100 kilometers per hour develops, and the participants experience an overload of 4 g.

10. The highest descent ride in the world

As the name implies, this is not the easiest roller coaster. The essence of the attraction is that the trolley climbs to the very top of the high tower, and then the passengers of the trailer fly off it at the speed of free fall. The tallest tower is located in the USA, New Jersey, at the Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park. The suicide slide Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom is called. Dry numbers - the passengers of the trolley rise to a height of 126 meters and fly down the slope at a maximum speed of 145 kilometers per hour.

Surprise, so to the fullest - a bonus point especially for the most curious!
11. A slide designed to kill its passengers

The symbolic name Euthanasia (euthanasia, termination of the life of a seriously ill and terminally ill patient) is the name of a project that does not exist in reality. This attraction was designed by Ph.D. Julijonas Urbonas back in 2010. The engineer believes that a ride on such a slide is ideal for those who want to experience dying euphoria and are ready to retire to another world, or for those who will then either have real euthanasia, or legal court execution. The Urbonas project envisions 7 spirals, which are designed to accelerate the trailer to an almost lethal G-level of 10 g. Such an overload will kill the passengers of the trolley, simply because oxygen stops flowing to the brain. Funny?

People often like to scare themselves. There are more and more adrenaline maniacs. This is the only reason why amusement parks exist. In them, people are seduced by a sense of anticipation before the trip, and then the adrenaline rush during entertainment. Most of the rides have some degree of risk, but some take the concept of risk to a whole new level.

1. Shivering Timbers

This ride is one of the biggest attractions in Michigan's Adventure. It is one of the five longest wooden slides in the world (1,640 meters), and its speed reaches 105 km / h.

The slide consists of three “hills”, each about 30 meters high, and is clearly not intended for the faint of heart.

2. The Smiler

When you first look at this slide, you get the impression that it was created by a maniac.

The Smiler boasts a world record for the most times a trolley falls down during a trip. The speed on this attraction is “only” 83 km / h.

3. El Toro

El Toro translates from Spanish as "bull". This is a 53-meter high slide, on which the speed reaches 112 km / h. El Toro is one of the fastest and tallest wooden slides in the world. Good luck in conquering this "bull".

4. Superman Escape

Who doesn't want to become a superman and fly around the world. You can get those feelings at Warner Bros. Movie World in Queensland, Australia.

Considering that Superman's Escape trolleys accelerate to 100 km / h in 2 seconds, this is already an outstanding achievement in itself, but also just insane turns, coups and special effects during the ride await visitors.

5. Intimidator

Perhaps there is nothing more frightening than standing in line for a roller coaster and looking up at an attraction stretching far into the sky. The height from which the cart with visitors falls on the Intimidator is 70 meters (at an angle of 72 degrees), while the speed develops 128 km / h.

6. Stratosphere Tower

Surely everyone has once wondered what it is like to hang at the level of the roof of a skyscraper when there is nothing under your feet. The crazy "stratospheric tower" in Las Vegas will help answer this question - the attraction is located at a height of 275 meters, while its visitors are "spun" at great speed. Anyone with a fear of heights should stay away from this attraction.

7. Stealth

The Stealth slide is super short, but it still feels the same. At first, people are quickly lifted to a height of 62 meters, and then the cart falls almost vertically at a speed of 128 km / h. In this case, the overloads reach 4.5 g.

This is the first slide at which the speed reached 160 km / h. First, a trailer with passengers is literally "shot" upward, to a height of 115 meters, and then the trailer rushes to the ground in a completely free fall, finally sliding down an inclined overpass. To say that it is scary is to say nothing.

9. Hades 360

It would seem that the most ordinary old wooden slides, but the appearance is deceiving. Not only does the trolley speed up to 112 km / h, it is the first wooden roller coaster with a 360-degree roll and the world's longest underground tunnel.

10. Wicked Twister

On the Wicked Twister attraction, visitors are accelerated to 115 km / h at a height of 65 meters. Then the booths with them are unwound and accelerated in reverse side... And so over and over again.

The Fury 325 has broken many records. The speed on the hill reaches 152 km / h, and the maximum height is 99 meters. In fact, at the time of construction, it was the tallest and fastest slide in the world.

12. Formula Rossa

Perhaps, you should not sit on this hill wearing a hat, as it will be blown away by the wind. Formula Rossa is the fastest roller coaster in the world with a speed of 239 km / h. And its name is not surprising, because there is a slide in Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi.

Top Thrill Dragster also broke many world records for its creation. Of course, he was surpassed today by Kingda Ka and Formula Rossa. But it is still unique in that it is one of two full slides with a 121-meter "drop" on the track.

14.Kingda Ka

So the turn came to the highest and second fastest roller coaster in the world. The height of Kingda Ka is 138 meters, and the speed of the trolley on it reaches 205 km / h.

Let's end the review on a not so dire note. Wild One is older than most people on Earth. This attraction was built in 1917, but has been in operation to this day, for 100 years.

Not everyone dares to ride such a slide. Too high, too fast and very, very scary ... You cannot explain to your brain that the technology has been worked out for a long time and there is no real danger of falling down from an almost 100-meter height. The little engine and these flimsy rails look so unreliable. And the height is so real! And yet, for those who like to test themselves and their bodies with extreme descents and ascents - the rating of the most impressive and frightening roller coasters in the world.

Kingda ka

A park: Six flags great adventure

Town: Jackson, NJ

Country: USA

Height: 138 meters away

The tallest slides in the world. The drop height reaches 127 meters, which is equivalent to the fortieth floor of a standard residential building. The attraction opened in 2005. And then he was considered the fastest. It takes only 50.6 seconds to cover the track. Today this record is broken by an attraction at Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi.

Top thrill dragster

A park: Cedar point

Town: Sandiski, Ohio

Country: USA

Height: 128 meters away

Record-breaking attractions have been created in Cedar Point Park before. So, for example, one of the Magnum XL-200 slides, for the first time overcame a height of 60 meters. But that was when it was ... At one time, Top Thrill Dragster also took first places in speed and height, until all of its performance was surpassed by Kingda Ka. However, this does not negate the main advantages. The attraction stands in the very center of the park. And to watch his wagons, soaring to incredible heights, and falling steeply down, is just as "fun" as to ride. Before the train departs, the lights on the tower change color: first red, then yellow and finally green - start. All pleasure lasts - 30 seconds. Believe me, enough to rip off your voice.

Red force

A park: Ferrari land at Port Aventura

Town: Salou, Terragona

Country: Spain

Height: 111.8 meters

This is the tallest and fastest roller coaster in Europe. Unlike the previous two examples, magnetic motors are used for starting instead of hydraulics. The trailers accelerate to 196 kilometers per hour in 5 seconds. Port Aventura is considered one of the largest theme parks. There are 10 such attractions in total.

Superman: Escape from Krypton

A park: Six flags magic mountain

Town: Valencia, California

Country: USA

Height: 126 meters away

This ride was the first to experience a free fall from 91.4 meters. Its tower was also considered the tallest some time ago. But that was already in 1997, when Superman was just put into operation. These slides were also the fastest, but the reputation was spoiled by too frequent breakdowns of the mechanism. As a result, in 2011 the roller coasters had to be completely rebuilt, which was only good for "Superman". And if before the passengers "fell" backwards, now they at least see where they are flying. Which also adds "special" sensations.

Tower of terror

A park: Dreamworld

Town: Queensland

Country: Australia

Height: 115 meters away

The attraction uses linear synchronous motors, so that the wagons "shoot", rise in an L-shaped trajectory, slow down at the top, and then "fall" into reverse direction... The Tower of Terror is the same age as Superman. Despite the fact that everything is happening here, and at the same speed, Tower of Terror is as much as 7 meters lower.

Fury 325

A park: Carowinds

Town: Charlotte, North Carolina

Country: USA

Height: 99 meters away

The hill is often called the Giant Hill for the elevation exceeding 300 feet, or 91.5 meters. The attraction opened in 2015. It looks very imposing in Carowinds Park, as its track runs under the main gate to the park. Its features also include a tilt of 81 degrees, as well as a maximum speed of 153 km per hour. Among themselves, roller coasters consider the Fury to be the best.

Steel Dragon 2000

A park: Nagashima Spa Land

Town: Nagashima

Country: Japan

Height: 97 meters away

Like the Fury 325, this slide uses a traditional lift and gravity to reach speeds of up to 153 km / h. The trail runs 2.5 km in 4 minutes. By the way, these are the longest slides in the world. Steel Dragon 2000 is located in Nagashima Spa Land, one of the main attractions of the land of the rising sun. A total of 12 roller coasters have been built there.

Ideal rest - everyone understands this concept in their own way. For some, an imposing pastime on the beach is optimal, while others get real pleasure from an active or even extreme vacation.

The heart beats faster, with every second a huge portion of adrenaline is thrown into the bloodstream, and the brain, in the meantime, seems to turn off, but the brilliance of the sensations does not decrease from this! Believe me, you will have enough impressions for many years if you dare to conquer the biggest water slide in the world!

Summit plummet

In the water park called Disney Blizzard Beach, which is located in Florida, there is one of the most extreme water slopes - about 37 meters high. Despite the fact that the summer is always sunny and quite hot here, those who want to go down from Summit plummet they will find drifts of snow at the top and along the entire route, because of which this attraction looks rather unusual and looks more like a ski jump. But since the snow is artificial, the likelihood of freezing something to yourself is reduced to zero.

To climb Summit Plummet you don't have to put in any special effort - here is cable car... And if the ascent is easy, then it is at the top of the water slide that you will have to be very hard. Why? Because you need to have nerves of steel to sit in a narrow chute, let go of your hands and ... experience an incredible feeling when you are rapidly falling down at a speed of 100 km / h. Ready? Then Summit Plummet is waiting for you!

For more than 15 years, this slide has held the proud title of the highest water slide in the world. Its height is 41 m and it is located in the water park, which bears the name of Fortaleza Beach Park... And if you have planned your vacation in the Brazilian resort of Fortaleza, then you simply have no right to pass by its luxurious attraction, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records.

Insano is a water slide that not everyone dares to slide down. Its descent is almost vertical, and its height is equal to that of a 14-storey building. Anyone who dares to climb to the top of this Brazilian attraction will be able to learn what a bird's eye view is and fully enjoy the surrounding landscape.

But the view of the coast and the port city is not the main thing! You are at the top and now you should collect all your will into a fist and make a real flight down. Its duration does not exceed 7 seconds, but because of the tremendous speed, which is about 105 km / h, the sensations are incredible! In this short time you will experience amazing, incomparable feelings!

Verrückt

But the biggest shot of adrenaline awaits you in Kansas City, where the Verrückt water slide awaits all madmen in a park called Schlitterbahn. Only true daredevils are able to agree to this adventure, since this slide is not only the highest in the world, but also one of the most extreme. By agreeing to this flight, you get several pleasures at once:

  • fast travel along the waterslide;
  • an incredible track that wags like rails on a roller coaster;
  • amazing turns, forcing you to fall down and immediately soar up.

And all this happens at an incredible speed that reaches 120 km / h. The highest section of the Verrückt water slide is 52 m. And if you compare it with famous buildings, then, for example, the Statue of Liberty will be half a meter lower than this attraction. The same can be said for some of the world's other landmarks such as the Tower and Niagara Falls- they are also inferior in height to this amazing water slide.

In order to reach the top of the Verrückt slide, you have to climb 264 steps. At the top, risk lovers are already waiting for rubber rafts, each of which can accommodate 3 people. And then only a dizzying flight from the height of a 17-storey building and another 180 m of incredible extreme! At the same time, the first fall is not the only one - immediately after it, you will be lifted to a height of about 5 floors and carried further along a narrow and, as it seems to many, endless gutter.

Do you want to tickle your nerves? Then you are on the highest water slide in the world!
